Our beginner Mahjong class introduces you to the fundamentals of American Mahjong, including the tiles, suits, racks, Charleston, game setup, National Mah Jongg League card and how a winning hand comes together.

Mahjong 102
You learned the basics.
Now let’s put it all together.
Mahjong 102 is designed for players who understand the fundamentals but still want hands-on help becoming more comfortable with the game.
You’ll continue working with the NMJL card, choosing hands, making decisions and understanding game flow while building confidence at the table.

Guided Play
Know the basics but still find yourself thinking, Wait…what do I do now?
That’s exactly what Guided Play is for.
Guided Play gives newer players the opportunity to play real games with help nearby when they need it.
Ask questions. Work through the card. Practice choosing hands. Learn from actual game situations.
It’s the perfect next step after a beginner lesson and before jumping completely into independent play.
